The Maynard School

The Maynard is situated a five-minute walk away from the centre of the ever-developing and beautiful Cathedral city of Exeter - a wonderful location to live, work and study! 

The Maynard has always dared to be different, its success is down to its originality.  Our focus is on delivering a broad, rounded and challenging education which adds value and consistently produces girls who are confident, articulate, knowledgeable, compassionate and resilient.

Community is the bedrock of The Maynard girls hence its reputation as a ‘family feel’ school. We are privileged to live and work in Exeter and we aim to develop and deepen our links across the city. We know that helping others is vital to wellbeing, and our students are at the centre of a large number of charitable initiatives. Many already willingly give the most precious of things – their time – and we will continue to facilitate additional student-led community initiatives in and around the area.

It is this focus on community and wellbeing that led us to partnering with Exeter Live Better. In Exeter there is such a strong and true spirit of community and collaboration, which makes each of us feel part of the city’s fabric. We are proud to partner with an initiative that puts wellbeing at the heart of the city.

At Maynard we are fortunate to be in such a brilliant location. The beautiful beaches of the South West are only 20 minutes away where surfing, sailing and watersports can be enjoyed. The open spaces of Dartmoor and Exmoor, as well as the cultural experiences associated with a university city (and the great shopping – Exeter is home to the South West’s best retail offering!), can all be enjoyed by Maynard girls, together with the school’s spacious grounds which provide a tranquil and safe environment in which to study.
